Fraser Trundle Bed Frame — Full Product Details
\nThe Fraser solves a specific problem that most bed frames don’t address: how to fit two functions — storage and extra sleeping capacity — into a single bed footprint. Storage beds give you drawers but no second sleeping surface; trundle beds give you a second mattress but no real storage. The Fraser combines both, with two pull-out drawers on one side and a pullout trundle bed on the other. For households juggling kids’ sleepovers, regular guest visits, multi-purpose rooms, or apartments where every square metre counts, that’s a more useful configuration than the alternatives.
\nThe swappable-configuration design is what makes the Fraser practical rather than just clever. Because both the drawer unit and the trundle are mounted on wheels, you decide at assembly which side of the bed gets which. If the bed sits with one side against a wall, you put the drawers on the wall side (where they’re still accessible from the foot end) and the trundle on the open side for easy guest access. If both sides are accessible, you put the trundle on the door-facing side and the storage on the side furthest from foot traffic. The same product works in different room layouts — no need to choose a left-handed or right-handed version at purchase. The wheels also make both units smooth to operate day to day rather than requiring force to slide.
\nThe Fraser is wrapped in upholstery fabric (most commonly polyester blend) with diamond/lattice button tufting across both the tall headboard and the matching footboard — the metallic accent buttons at each diamond point add a more contemporary look than standard linear chesterfield tufting. Available in Queen and King sizes, in Light Grey or Black colourways. Two mattresses are required (Queen or King for the main bed; Single for the trundle), both sold separately. See the Fraser in person at any of our five SE QLD showrooms — Rocklea (flagship), Sandgate, Bundall (Gold Coast), North Ipswich, and Beenleigh — where you can test the trundle mechanism, pull the drawers, and see how the swappable configuration works in person before ordering.

Fraser Trundle Bed Frame
The Fraser Trundle Bed Frame is a dual-function upholstered bed designed for households that need both storage and flexible sleeping capacity. One side of the bed holds two pull-out drawers for bedding, off-season clothing, or anything you’d rather keep out of sight. The other side holds a pullout trundle bed that slides out to provide an additional sleeping surface for kids’ sleepovers, overnight guests, or growing families. Both units are mounted on wheels, so the drawer side and trundle side can be configured to whichever side of the bed works best for your room layout. Available in Queen and King sizes, in Light Grey or Black upholstery with a distinctive diamond-tufted finish.
Two Storage Drawers + Pullout Trundle — Swappable Configuration
The Fraser’s defining design choice is that it does two jobs at once. On one side of the bed, two pull-out drawers arranged along the side rail give you hidden storage for spare bedding, off-season clothing, or items you’d rather keep out of view. On the other side, a pullout trundle bed slides out from underneath the main bed to become an additional sleeping surface — useful for kids’ sleepovers, overnight guests, or as a permanent secondary bed in shared bedrooms. Because both the drawers and the trundle are mounted on wheels, you choose at assembly which side gets the storage and which gets the trundle, so the configuration fits your room rather than the other way around.
Two fabric colourways with the same diamond-tufted upholstery treatment.
Light Grey
Soft mid-grey tone; pairs with white, oak, and neutral palettes
Black
Deep charcoal-black; anchors brighter walls and lighter bedding
Colour swatches shown above are for reference only — actual fabric tone can read differently in person depending on lighting. We recommend visiting one of our five SE QLD showrooms to see the colour in person before ordering.
Diamond-Tufted Upholstery
The headboard and footboard both carry a diamond/lattice button tufting pattern with metallic accent buttons at each diamond point — a more contemporary look than standard linear chesterfield tufting.
Swappable Drawer / Trundle Configuration
Both the drawer unit and the trundle are on wheels — you pick at assembly which side gets which. Configure the trundle on the door-facing side for easy guest access, or hide it on the wall side.
Queen and King Sizes Available
Queen suits guest rooms, kids’ rooms with sleepovers, and smaller master bedrooms. King suits master bedrooms and family setups with full-time secondary sleepers.
About the Upholstery Fabric
The Fraser is wrapped in a durable woven upholstery fabric with diamond button tufting across the headboard and footboard. Like most modern furniture fabric in this category, the material is typically a synthetic blend (most commonly polyester) rather than natural fibre. The synthetic blend is the right call for a multi-function bed that sees regular use: it’s hard-wearing, resists pilling and stains better than natural-fibre alternatives, and stays cleaner for longer between deep cleans — particularly relevant for kids’ rooms and guest setups where the bed sees more wear than a typical master.
Vacuum Weekly with a Soft Brush
Use a soft-brush vacuum attachment across the upholstered headboard, footboard, and sides. Pay attention to the tufting buttons where lint and dust collect along the seams.
Blot Spills, Don’t Rub
Address spills immediately with a clean dry cloth, blotting from the outside of the spill inward. Avoid rubbing, which spreads the spill and can affect the tufting pattern.
Roll, Don’t Drag the Drawers and Trundle
Pull the drawers and trundle out on their wheels with a steady motion. Avoid forcing them or pulling at an angle, which can stress the wheel assemblies and damage the floor.
Keep Out of Direct Sunlight
Like most upholstery, the Fraser’s fabric can fade under prolonged direct sun exposure. The Light Grey colourway is more visibly affected than Black, but both benefit from positioning away from unfiltered window light.
The Fraser is sold as a frame only. Both the main bed and the trundle need their own mattress — chosen separately.
You’ll need two mattresses: one full-size (Queen or King to match the bed) for the main frame, and one Single mattress for the trundle. Mattress-in-a-Box is a particularly practical choice for the trundle because it’s compressed for easy delivery and works well as a secondary mattress that’s used occasionally rather than every night.
What sizes is the Fraser Trundle Bed Frame available in?
The Fraser is available in Queen and King sizes (referring to the main bed). Single, King Single, and Double are not available. The pullout trundle bed is designed to take a standard Single mattress — confirm exact trundle dimensions with the showroom team before ordering the trundle mattress.
How does the trundle work, and what size mattress does it take?
The trundle is a low-profile bed that sits underneath the main bed and rolls out on wheels from one side when you need it. To use it, slide the trundle out, place a mattress and bedding on top, and it’s ready as a secondary sleeping surface. When not in use, the trundle rolls back under the main bed and sits flush against the side. The trundle is designed for a standard Single mattress (approximately 92×188cm), though we recommend confirming exact dimensions with the showroom team or the included instruction manual before ordering the trundle mattress separately. Mattress-in-a-box is a particularly good fit because the compressed delivery makes it easy to handle, and the slimmer profile works well for a trundle that’s used occasionally rather than every night.
Can I choose which side has the drawers and which side has the trundle?
Yes — this is one of the Fraser’s practical design features. Both the drawer unit and the trundle unit are mounted on wheels, which means at assembly you can decide which side of the bed gets the storage and which gets the trundle. Useful because room layouts vary: in some bedrooms you’ll want the trundle on the door-facing side for easy guest access, while in others you’ll want it tucked against the wall to hide it when not in use. The configuration is set at assembly, not permanently fixed — if you need to swap them later (for example, after moving house), you can reconfigure.
What’s the storage capacity in the drawers?
The drawer side of the Fraser holds two pull-out drawers arranged along the side rail of the bed. They’re sized for items you don’t need to access daily — spare bedding, pillows, off-season clothing, blankets, towels for guests, or anything that would otherwise live in a wardrobe. Combined with the trundle on the other side, the Fraser turns one bed footprint into storage + extra sleeping capacity, which makes it particularly useful in smaller apartments and shared bedrooms where space is at a premium.
Is the Fraser suitable for everyday use, or just guest setups?
The main bed is designed for everyday use — the wooden internal frame, slats, and durable upholstery hold up to nightly sleeping just like any standard bed frame. The trundle is more variable: it works well as a regular secondary sleeping space (kids’ shared bedrooms, full-time guest accommodation) or as an occasional-use guest setup, depending on your needs. The trundle’s mattress is typically thinner than the main mattress to fit under the bed when retracted, so it’s a comfortable sleeping surface but not identical to a full-thickness master mattress.
What’s the fabric like, and how is it cleaned?
The Fraser is wrapped in a durable woven upholstery fabric — typically a synthetic blend (most commonly polyester) in this category, which gives it good resistance to pilling, fading, and stains for everyday use. Care is straightforward: vacuum weekly with a soft-brush attachment, blot spills immediately with a clean dry cloth (working outside in), and treat with Guardsman Fabric Protector spray for ongoing everyday protection. The diamond tufting pattern collects a bit more lint and dust around the buttons than flat upholstery would — an occasional run with the vacuum nozzle through the tufted areas keeps it looking sharp.
Can I see the Fraser in a showroom before buying?
Yes — the Fraser is on display across our five SE QLD showrooms: Rocklea (flagship), Sandgate, Bundall (Gold Coast), North Ipswich, and Beenleigh. Floor models and current stock by colour may vary, so we recommend calling ahead if you’d like to see a specific colourway or test the trundle and drawer mechanisms in person before ordering.
