Jack Bed Frame — Full Product Details

\n

Two-tone timber furniture is a quiet design move with disproportionate impact. The Jack Bed Frame leans on this principle: light natural acacia plank panels on the headboard and footboard, framed on all four sides by a matte black trim border, with splayed mid-century-style legs lifting the whole bed off the floor. The combination reads as contemporary without being aggressive about it — the acacia keeps the bedroom feeling warm, the black trim sharpens the edges, and the splayed legs add a hint of mid-century design language. The result is a bed that works across a range of bedroom styles, from contemporary apartments to renovated Queenslander rooms.

\n

The Jack is part of a four-piece coordinated range. Beyond the bed itself, the matching Jack Bedside Table, Jack Tallboy, and Jack Dresser with Mirror all carry the same acacia plank panels and matte black trim treatment — so the full set reads as one coordinated bedroom rather than a collection of separately-sourced pieces. Each piece is sold separately, which lets you build the bedroom in stages rather than committing to a full set at once.

\n

The Jack is available in Queen and King sizes only — Single, King Single, and Double sizes aren’t available for this bed. Built around a wooden internal frame with straight wooden slats included, and a middle support bar where applicable. A mattress isn’t included; pair the bed with a Pocket Spring, Memory Foam, or Bamboo mattress from our ranges. See the Jack range in person at any of our five SE QLD showrooms — Rocklea (flagship), Sandgate, Bundall (Gold Coast), North Ipswich, and Beenleigh — where you can see the two-tone treatment up close and check how the four pieces work together.

Jack

The Jack Bed Frame brings a two-tone treatment to the bedroom — light natural acacia plank panels framed by a matte black trim border on both the headboard and footboard, creating a quietly contemporary contrast across the bed’s visible surfaces. Splayed mid-century-style legs at the corners lift the bed off the floor and add a touch of design language that pairs comfortably with the natural acacia finish above. Built as the centrepiece of the Jack range, with matching bedside, tallboy, and dresser pieces available separately; bed frame comes in Queen and King sizes.

Two-Tone Design: Acacia & Black Trim

The Jack’s defining feature is the contrast between materials: light natural acacia plank panels make up the headboard and footboard centres, while a matte black trim border frames them on all four sides. The result is a contemporary, almost graphic finish that reads quite differently from a flat timber bed — the black trim sharpens the edges and gives the natural wood inside a framed-picture quality. The same two-tone treatment carries through the matching Jack range pieces, so the bedroom reads as a single coordinated set when the pieces are used together.

More Reasons to Choose the Jack

Vertical Plank Panels

Both the headboard and footboard centres are made up of vertical timber planks running floor-to-ceiling within the black trim frame. The plank joins show the natural acacia grain and add visual texture without busyness.

Splayed Mid-Century Legs

Angled timber legs splay outward at each corner — a mid-century-modern detail that lifts the bed visually off the floor and lightens the overall silhouette. Pairs well with the contemporary black trim above.

Part of the 4-Piece Jack Range

The Jack is the bed in a four-piece coordinated acacia range — matching Bedside Table, Tallboy, and Dresser with Mirror all available separately, each carrying the same acacia + black trim treatment.

About the Materials & Build

The Jack is crafted from acacia wood with a light natural finish that shows the timber’s grain and character. The headboard and footboard centres are made up of vertical timber planks set within a matte black trim border on all four sides; the side rails and splayed legs continue the same acacia finish. Built around a wooden internal frame with straight wooden slats included, and a middle support bar where applicable (varies by size — refer to your size’s instruction manual). If you’d like to confirm specifics on construction or which sections are which on the floor model, the showroom team can walk you through it.

Care Instructions

Dust the Plank Joins Weekly

Use a soft dry cloth across the vertical plank panels and around the black trim border. Dust collects in the plank joins faster than on flat surfaces — a quick weekly wipe keeps the grain reading cleanly.

Damp, Never Wet

For spills or sticky marks, use a barely-damp cloth and dry the area immediately afterwards. Standing water can damage the timber finish and dull the black trim’s matte coating over time.

Keep Out of Direct Sunlight

Sustained UV dries the timber and can fade the natural finish unevenly. Position the bed away from harsh afternoon sun, especially in north-facing rooms where exposure is highest.

Use Felt Pads on the Footboard

If anything is placed on the footboard rail (a folded blanket with hard tags, a book, a tray), use felt pads or a soft cloth underneath to avoid scratching the acacia finish or marking the black trim.

Pair With a Mattress

The Jack is sold as a frame only. Match the bed size, then choose a mattress that suits your sleep preference — the team can help in any showroom.

Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes is the Jack Bed Frame available in?

The Jack is available in Queen and King sizes. Single, King Single, and Double sizes are not available for this bed. The bed takes a standard mattress of the matching size.

What’s the matte black trim border on the headboard and footboard?

The Jack’s two-tone design has a matte black trim border that frames the vertical acacia plank panels on both the headboard and footboard — running around all four edges of each panel like a picture frame. It’s a deliberate contrast against the light natural acacia inside, sharpening the bed’s edges and giving it a more contemporary, graphic finish than a single-material timber bed. The matching pieces in the Jack range carry the same black trim treatment, so the four pieces read as a coordinated set.

Is the Jack made from acacia wood?

Yes — the Jack is crafted from acacia wood with a light natural finish that shows the timber’s grain across the headboard, footboard, side rails, and splayed legs. The matte black trim is a contrasting accent treatment around the plank panels. If you’d like to see the floor model or ask about specific construction details, our showroom team can walk you through it in person.

What other pieces are in the Jack range?

The Jack range includes four coordinated pieces, all sold separately: the Jack Bed Frame (this page), the Jack Bedside Table, the Jack Tallboy, and the Jack Dresser with Mirror. Each piece carries the same acacia + matte black trim treatment, so the bedroom reads as one coordinated range when used together.

Does the bed come with a mattress, and are slats included?

The Jack is sold as a frame only — no mattress is included. Straight wooden slats are built into the frame, so you don’t need an ensemble base or a separate slat set; place your mattress directly on the slats. A middle support bar is included where applicable (varies by size — refer to your size’s instruction manual).

Is the Jack flat-packed, and how is it assembled?

Yes — the Jack ships flat-packed in separate boxes for easier delivery and home handling. Includes clear instructions for at-home assembly. We recommend two people for assembly to make handling the headboard and footboard panels easier — the timber construction means the panels are heavier than upholstered alternatives.

Can I see the Jack in a showroom before buying?

Yes — the Jack range is on display across our five SE QLD showrooms: Rocklea (flagship), Sandgate, Bundall (Gold Coast), North Ipswich, and Beenleigh. Floor models and current stock may vary, so we recommend calling ahead if you’d like to see the full coordinated set together or check stock on a specific size. Seeing the two-tone treatment in person is worth the visit — the contrast reads differently in photography than in the room.
